Christmas meals

For breakfast my parents made deviled eggs, crescent rolls, bacon and Cinnamon buns.

For dinner we had manicotti, meat balls, sausage, pork, and quail(they look like sparrows), but they tasted really good.

Heres a picture of the quails wishbone, it's so small!

ITS CHRISTMAS!!!

On Christmas morning I woke up about 7:15 and discovered that I was the last one to wake up(besides my parents)! There were soo many wraped gifts under the tree. I got a lot of really nice gifts from my family.

I'd say one of the most interesting of the gifts I recieved was this knife/pocket watch set my grandparents got me. It could be thought of as a
collectors item or maybe a little controversal. But anyway its the thought that matters.

The pocket watch dipicts the Confederate general Robert E. Lee (left) and the Union general Ulysses S. Grant (right). It's a really nice gift!

WOW!! A GIANT SNOWMAN!!

WOW!! It's a 9 FOOT SNOWMAN!!
Franky and I built it Friday afternoon. Franky wanted to beat our record of 7 feet from last year, and, I think we did. In order to get the head on I had to stand on a bench with my arms fully extended above my head with the heavy snowball in my hands. By the end of the day it was toppled over by the wind i guess. It was fun to build it!

Auto Tip #3

I heard this from my grandmother a couple of years ago, then I saw it on the Internet a few days ago. To preserve the underside of your car from rust and keep any components from rotting, you should have it cleaned. The main reason to clean the bottom of the car is to clean off any salt that gets kicked up from the roads during the winter season. Salt is very corrosive and will prematurely rust and rot the underside of the car. You can get it cleaned when you bring your car to the car wash, just ask them to clean the undercarriage. If you clean your car yourself you can easily clean the undercarriage with a sprinkler. Just put one of those sprinklers that go slowly back and forth under the front of your car for about 10 minutes, then move it toward the back (to make sure every thing gets rinsed).

Auto Tip #2

I learned this tip in school today. I thought it was interesting so I decided to share it with you. The minimum specification for tire tread is 3/32 of an inch. I don't expect anyone to go and take a ruler to their tires. So if you are not sure if the tread (grooves) on your tires are starting to wear too much all you need to check it is a Penny. Just take a Penny, and turn it so that Abraham's head is upside down and facing you (the space between the top of the Penny to the top of his head is 3/32 of an inch), and stand up the coin in the tread. If you can Not see the top of his head, because the tread is covering it, then the tire is fine, but if you Can see the top of his head then you might want to consider looking into a new tire(s), all depending on how much of his head you can see. If it is just barely showing then you might have a little life left but if a considerable amount is showing, then like I said, you might want to buy a new tire or tires (you should check all the tires).

Anthony's auto tips #1

My mother gave me this idea to post helpful tips on here about cars.
This first tip came to me when my car was over heating today.
The first step to know if your car is over heating, is to check your temperature gauge (some cars don't have a gauge, just a light for when the car gets too hot).

Next, if your gauge reads that the water temperature is too high an easy thing to do, is to simply turn on the HEAT, this really works it worked for me today. What that does is it takes the very hot water, that can not extract any more heat from the engine, away from the engine and a fan blows the heat off the water into your car. In turn, cooling the water a bit. As the water flows back to the engine it extracts more heat till it can't any more and puts it back into the car, as long as the heat is on. You should put the fan on high in to order to take the most heat out of the water. This is only a temporary fix until you can get your car looked at or fixed. With my car the anti-freeze level was too low and there was not enough water to extract the heat from the engine.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP AS STEAM AT WAY OVER 245 DEGREES WILL VIOLENTLY BLOW OUT OF THE CAP SEVERELY BURNING YOU. WAIT AT LEAST TWO HOURS BEFORE OPENING CAP AFTER CAR HAS BEEN SHUT OFF!!

The oil change...

On Friday I wore the shirt i got when i worked at Bentley Long Island to my Dr. appointment. The Dr. said to me you work at Bentley, I told him i used to. He then told me about his 2008 Bentley Continetal Flying Spur which needed an oil change. After about 3 minutes of talking he gave me his credit card and told me to go to the dealership and buy what i needed to perform an oil service. After the oil filters, new drain plugs, and a new hood orniment the bill totaled $1500. As I bought the parts the guy at the counter goes to me "That will be one thousand five hundred dollors" I then casually said "No problem" and pulled the credit card out of my wallet and gave it to him. On Monday after my classes were over I took a drive to his house. Apon reaching his fairly large house i knocked on the door. I heard a voice saying "Who is it?" I answered "Its Anthony" (I introduced myself to her over the phone 5 minutes before getting to her house). His wife told my to go around the house to the garrage. She opened the door and there it was a huge, black georgous car. On the way home from her house I was so nervous to go on the southern state parkway, but after a mile or two I started to relax and enjoy the ride. The car is so quiet from the inside I couldn't really hear the cars around me. When i got home my mother was waiting in the street with her camera. Video taped me telling about the car. After the oil change was over and Franky wiped off any fingerprints we both left to return the car. He wanted to play with everything but I would not let him, he was lucky I let him or anyone in the car.

Here's the car sitting in our driveway. Such a nice looking car.

Importance of tires

As a mechanic I know pretty much how important tires are for an automobile. They are contructed in such a way to absorb shock from rough road surfaces, and to provide traction so that the car wont loose control in certain weather conditions. I know that tires play a key role in vehicle proformance.

Not only as a mechanic but as a teenager with a camaro I also know that tires play a key role in vehicle proformance. You know what i'm saying? If you don't, just take a look at this video:

At Frank's birthday party on sunday the 12th. I decided to show off my car a little bit to Mark, Matt, Luke and Russell. Well, maybe a lot.

My dream car...

Back probably in september 2007 i saw a camaro for sale. I said to my parents that I really wanted one becsause it is kind of my dream car (I knew pretty much they would not buy one for me because of certain reasons ex. price, ect.). I then just forgot about it. Ok, so, when i was in high school around novemeber one of my teachers came to me and said that she had a car and wanted to know if my vocational school would accept it as donation. So i asked her what type of car it was. She said it was a CAMARO. So I said, in the exact words "I'll take it, whats wrong with it." She said it did not run. She told me, if you can fix it, you can have it. I then said i'll give it a try. To make a long story short i just had to replace the battery and fuel pump. Sooo i now have a 1991 Chevorlet Camaro RS with a 5.0 liter (305 cid) v-8, FOR FREE!!!

It looks a little rough, well , because it is, but i'll be getting it painted soon, still white but probably with two black racing stripes. It will look REALLY nice. I already installed a flowmaster 80 series muffler in it. It has a really nice tone to it.

Just the other day i bought a pair of
shorty headers which i will install
soon. They will noticibly increase
horsepower and torque.
But i'll keep you all posted on all that I do with this car.

I'm back...

Alright here's what happened. I signed up to have a blog in oct. 2007. As you can see i never posted anything. So, I'm back and I'll try to post things somewhat reguarly.
